MARK VINER

The Pharos Arts Foundation, in collaboration with The Keyboard Charitable Trust in London, presents a recital with Mark Viner, recognised as one of the most exciting British concert pianists of his generation, who is becoming increasingly well-known for his bold championing of unfamiliar pianistic terrain. Winner of the Alkan-Zimmerman International Piano Competition in 2012, Viner has since appeared in concerts and recital all over the world and he has recently been elected as Chairman of the Alkan Society in the UK. For his recital in Cyprus, on 24 March 2017 at The Shoe Factory, Mark Viner will perform works by Liszt, Chopin, Alkan and Thalberg. read more...

The Pharos Arts Foundation presents a recital with the extremely talented Christian Elliott – cellist of the Zehetmair Quartet and Principal Cellist of the Irish Chamber Orchestra, and pianist Robin Green, described by Gramophone as an intelligent and sensitive musician with a genuine flair for imaginative programming. In view of their first recording together of the complete Beethoven cello and piano music, which will be released later in the year, the two artists will appear at The Shoe Factory, Nicosia, on 5 April 2017, in a programme consisting of works by Beethoven and Schumann. read more...

The Pharos Arts Foundation presents the long-awaited return visit of pianist Ashley Wass. Described by Gramophone Magazine as “a thoroughbred who possesses the enviable gift to turn almost anything he plays into pure gold” and as an “endlessly fascinating artist”, Ashley is highly in demand on the international stage, having performed as a soloist and with numerous leading orchestra at many of the world’s finest concert halls. For his recital in Cyprus, on Friday 28 April 2017, at The Shoe Factory, Nicosia, 8:30pm, Ashley Wass will present a Shakespeare inspired programme with works by Beethoven, Liszt, Smetana and Prokofiev. read more...

The Pharos Arts Foundation presents a piano recital with Theodore Tzovanakis, considered one of the most sought-after and talented pianists of his generation in Greece, in an all-Russian programme, comprising works by Alexander & Julian Scriabin, P.I. Tchaikovsky, Sergei Prokofiev and Nikolai Medtner.
